Three Years

Happy birthday blog!
THREE years ago TODAY I started my blogging journey and I am thankful I did!

I love being able to go back and relive my races whenever I feel like it.
#suchacoolthingtobeabletodo
Plus I love sharing my experiences with y'all!

To celebrate I woke up at 3am and drove 2 hours to swim in the lake for 40 minutes with friends!
I LOVE MY FRIENDS.
I LOVE TRAINING!

Well... most days!
Let's just say I like to hurt myself...
Stupid dirt. Stupid clipping in!
This happened a couples days go and it was pretty funny!
Thankfully I was just standing still trying to clip in... in the the dirt!
It's a little different than the pavement FYI.
You press to hard, you FALL over!
bahahahaha

THEN THIS WEEK I SIGNED UP FOR...
MIAMI 70.3
#HOLYEXCITED

AND my relay team found out we got FIRST PLACE in the women's relay for Leadman
So awesome. These ladies ROCK.
LOVE THEM!

So I am happy to report I am feeling awesome. My hip is healing.
I am running.
I am biking.
I am swimming.
I LOVE being a triathlete... yep, I finally feel like one :)

Put your Running Shoes on Mandi!

Yesterday I had butterflies.
Yesterday was my first "run" in 6 weeks.
Yesterday MANDI WAS EXCITED.

Thank goodness for amazing friends.
Andrew, the new guy, got the idea to do the Road Runner Adventure Run.
Mandi was excited!
My plan was to head to one of the check points then come back, chill, have a beer and relax!
THEN we found out... Big Surf was a check point!
So we headed out...

AND GOT STUCK IN BIG SURF FOR THE HOUR!

I got to go down the slides four times! It was PERFECT!
Mandi got in her 3.23 mile run and got to cool down in between while acting like a kid again!

We may not know how to have fun... but we try!!

Thank you guys for being a part of my first run back!
LOVE MY CHOLLA's #timeseleven

I am SO happy to report... no pain for at least three weeks maybe almost four!
The hip is doing well and I am taking it nice and easy.

A hip stress fracture is no fun but the 6 weeks went by somewhat fast.
SO thankful I am healing and feeling better each day.
So for now... more riding, little bit of running and getting OWSing in as much as possible!

Barb's Race in 5 weeks!

I. Freaking. Got. This.

Back in the Saddle Again

Yesterday was my 4 week Doctors appointment to see how my hip stress fracture was healing.
I GOT THE GOOD TO GO!
I can now Swim/Ride/Elliptical/Strength Train

How many yellow sushi plates does one have on the day they are allowed to get back in the saddle?
11. Yellow. Sushi Plates.

Last night I got Rosalita all ready for riding again...
Switched my saddle, replaced my cleats, aired up the tires and got all my gear out of the closet!

This morning was a beautiful morning for a RIDE!
75* #yesplease
We were excited to get out the door!

So... now that I am riding again I have decided that I am putting my ego in check and going off of HR training. First I will be building up my AEROBIC base...which basically means that I will be going at snail pace since I usually pedal until I can't breath! #oops

I only had to stop once to get my HR in check today and that was at the beginning of the ride...
I MAY HAVE BEEN EXCITED!

For the most part staying at 139 (my now zone 3) wasn't all that bad. It was tough going that slow but in time it will help me and for now I know it is helping me "take it easy."

#LOVEaerosmith

SO now I can ride again!
Two more weeks then I can get back to running!
Swim, Bike, Elliptical Mandi is comin' at cha!

I don't know about you, but I can't believe how fast those 4 weeks went by?!
I should be on week 7 for my Barb's 70.3 training.
Talking with my doctor I will probably not be able to do the run... BUT the swim and bike should be doable! #happymandi #disappointedBUThappytobehealing

I am so thankful that my hip is healing. AND thank you all for your amazing support and encouragement. I have the best support system a girl could ask for!
XOXOXOXOXOX
