One month. Two runs.

I ran this morning, for the second time this month. Yes, you heard it right, two runs.

March was not a month of running and looking back on it. I am glad. I needed to come down from that peak to see the HUGE mountain that I had climbed. Within a year of running I ran 1 ten mile race, 2 half marathons, a 200 mile relay with 11 others and 1 marathon. That is HUGE.

I never thought I would be a runner. But I am happier than ever to call myself one! I cannot wait for my next peak... it will be bigger, better and faster! Stay tuned =D

Working 9 to 9 - Please motivate me!

I have been working my regular paying job 9-5 and then getting home and working on our new condo every night from 5pm to 8 or 9 or 10pm depending on the night.

This girl is not used to such long hours... therefore I have been slacking when it comes to just about everything else in life.

I have not ran in a couple weeks... even though I did set my alarm to get up and go this morning. My body was just not having it! So I stayed in bed. I am thinking I need to sign up for a race soon so I don't loose every oz of fitness I have gained this past year.

How do you stay motivated??

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Unlike most, this will not be a day full of beer and corn beef & cabbage.

I will be working on our condo and shopping for flooring!
Wish me luck, tonight we are going to hopefully pick our floors out!

Happy Spring, Happy Home

To tell the truth... I haven't been running much. Well I do have an excuse because.... WE BOUGHT A NEW CONDO!

We are totally remodeling EVERYTHING. This place had popcorn ceilings, gross tile (I hate tile btw, it sucks to remove!), the kitchen was rotting and super duper old, bathrooms are old and pretty gross. This is the first time I have actually remodeled anything and it is going great so far... we are on day 4 now... the tile in the main room pictured below is gone :)

We have already tore a lot of it apart

I think the trash may be the worst.
I will update with completed pictures in a month... fingers crossed!

27 hours of running - DONE

Ragnar Del Sol 2011...
was the hardest 27 hours of my life!
But I looked good doing it!

I don't know why but I thought that Ragnar would be easy peasy. It would have been, if between my second and third leg I would have gotten more than two hours of sleep on a comfy bed... not on a hard gymnasium floor!

I signed up for Ragnar with a local shop, Tribe Multisport. They had two teams, Tribe Multisport & Tribe Multisport Too. I was placed on Tribe Multisport Too and all my friends were placed on the other Tribe team. Therefore I was a bit nervous not knowing anyone...

Amy, Me & Pam
But as it turns out RUNNERS ARE GREAT PEOPLE! I had the time of my life! We laughed, joked and partied in our stinky van the whole time!

I was runner 12 of 12. Loved it. Loved my van, each team had two vans full of six runners and a driver. I ran the fastest I have ever ran in a race environment and that defiantly took a toll on me but we were racing our other team, team one. I had to beat Team One, they were my friends! Annnd we beat them! It was awesome!

Our team did a great job, we finished 41st overall and 12th in our division!

I recommend everyone doing a relay of some sort at least once. It was a great experience and I will defiantly be doing it again!
