Walking On A Dream

As I was going through the "Lost & Found" pictures...
I realized I should have NOT.
Race pictures are always AMAZING.
Now I know, when coming out of a pool I may look a bit ridiculous.
Just a bit :-D

Rock n' Roll People.

Happy hump day!!

Anthem Sprint Triathlon 2012 Race Recap

When choosing my first Tri to do a friend suggested the Anthem Sprint... so I went with it.
Hey it was a reverse (which i am pretty much bass aackards anyway), the swim was short and in a pool.

5k run
20k bike
400 meter swim

The day started out early... I was nervous but not as nervous as I thought I would be.
I knew I could do all the distances... and I knew it would only be an hour or so out of my life.
Hey what's an hour? Not much, so I knew I HAD to put it all out there.

All set up in transition :)

Watching the kids start...
Todd goes on and gets 2nd place OVERALL!
Joanne & I at the start... ready to run like the wind!
The run was awesome... Started out going down hill a bit so I knew we were bound to go up again.
Thank goodness for all the hills I do cause that slow incline didn't stop this woman!
Finished up the 5k in 24:18
A PR by at least 3 minutes for me...
but I don't run 5k's so I wasn't worried that I went out too hard

Going for the ride!

The ride seems like the toughest for me #eventhoughtheswimwasmyworst ...
I passed the only AGer in front of me..
BUT I still felt slow and I know I have a lot to work on here.
The bike course was awesome cause you start out going up hill then you get to cruise downhill and pick up speed to prepare for that hill x3
On the second loop my teammate Joanne passed me and this helped me to push it A LOT harder on the last lap... which probably helped me win overall because I passed the only AGer and beat her to the transition by three minutes
Finished 20k in 47:18
I tried figuring out my actual bike time on my Garmin & I think it was about 43/44 minutes...
Which means I HAVE to work on those transition times...
But hey not bad for NEVER practicing!

Ready to swim or putt along... whatever you call it

Ahhh the swim. It was tough.
400 meters = NOT tough.
400 meters after running/biking TOUGH.
I was slow... but I did feel good.
I didn't have to stop or do any other kind of stroke.
But looking at some of the video that was taken I see how slow I was!
400 meters in 11:14
Not the best... but it kept me in front!

RUNNING to the finish
See that girl behind me... she was in my AG!!
Good thing I ran; I won by ONE SECOND!

On the podium - FIRST PLACE AG!
Overall time 1:22:50
1st Place AG 25-29
10th Place OAWomen

Everyone on team TRIBE got a podium. We are rock stars!!

Overall this was a SUPER fun race and I can't wait for my next Tri!
I loved being a part of the Tribe Team and I suggest everyone joining some sort of team,
it really made the experience!

Gators setting the bar high

Well, if you know me you know I LOVE Florida.
But this post has nothing to do with Florida... really.

Gatortoe SOCKS! #ihavethebestfriendsever
One of my friends who lives in Florida did his first sprint tri yesterday and HE got FIRST in his AG!! He was in town last week and I told him not to do too good cause I wanted to do just as well as him for my race (which is this upcoming Saturday, YAY!!!!)... Needless to say now I have to kick a lot of butt and take names!!
Thanks for keeping the bar high J; I freaking got this!! ;-)

This past week has been a fun one.
I got to ride with my favorite pregnant women!

I love riding with them cause I can keep up.
They are both AMAZING cyclist and rock when they don't have a baby weighing them down... well they are still ROCKING of course just at my pace :)

I also got to go to a transition clinic this weekend put on by the one and only Amy Kloner
It was SUPER informative but I have to admit I am scared about this whole tri thing. I need to remember a lot things!! But that is why I am starting out with a sprint and working my way up :)

Any advise for my first sprint tri?
It is reverse... so at least I will not smell so bad when I finish!!

Ummm, pretty sure I can't believe I haven't mentioned three of my favorite CHOLLA CHICKS completed  their first 51k Ultra a couple weeks ago!! THEY rocked it and I am so proud of them!!! One of them even got 1st in her AG! #rockstars

Also congrats to my friend BT who just completed his first 70.3 yesterday!!!

Boo Ya - Hoo HA!

Who is that hangin' with my bike?

This stuff rocks. Seriously.
If you have a saddle... you need some sort of body glide and this stuff is the bomb diggity!
When I first started out I didn't realize HOW IMPORTANT this stuff is.
My hoo ha is now a happy hoo ha.

The name is awesome.
The product is awesome.
The description on the bottle is awesome.

"Don't settle for nut cream. Don't ignore the needs of your Hoo Ha."
HAHA. Sorry. I told you TMI.

Do you use any type of chafing cream?
How long did it take you to figure it out or were you lucky enough to  be told about it first?
#iamawomanyouknow ;-)

Finally home from the Idaho! Such a fun family trip...
I even got a nice 20 mile bike ride in and a short run!
I really wanted to do some open water swimming since we were by the lake up there...
but it was FREEZING. OMG. I needed like two wet suites!

Enjoy some of the pictures I actually took...

My niece Jess #yessheisjustfouryearsyoungerthani
